Artist's Comments

This is the first of a series of creatures, they will be named after the letters of the greek alphabet (alpha, beta, gamma and so on). This was created by one of my clients and co-workers, who asked me to draw it and gave me the idea to use it in the book we were creating (I wrote it, but he gave most of the ideas).

Those things aren't ears, they are feathers, as well as on the back of its neck. It's supposed to be a young and tender one...

And no, it's not a pokémon!

*edit* dAmn!!! I worked on it for 3 days, I drew lots of very detailed fur, and my stupid scanner didn't catch it...

*edit 2* No, I won't fix the mouth and the nose. I tried on my drawing, but the creature lost its cuteness. If anyone is keen enough on Photoshop, I'd be really pleased if you could fix it for me.

I think it looks great, very realistic even though it's not something that really exists. Interesting character design and cute as well. I love those eyes and the fur and it's obvious the feathers are feathers and not ears. The backdrop is nice too, it's simple and subtle but creates a feeling of scenery.

It's supposed to be like a camel's mouth, but I agree, the mouth and teeth are too small. Don't expect to see the whole alphabet, I think I'll stop at Epsilon...

There are 24 letters, but maybe you were thinking about symbols. Each letter has a lowercase and uppercase symbol, so that makes 48 symbols, right? Nope. There are 49 because there are 2 ways to write the lowercase Sigma, one when it goes at the end of a word and the other one for anywhere else.

They say that if you have enough time to learn greek as a pastime, you have no life.

O__O oh! so CUTE!!! *clings to it* the mouth is a little small tho. and then the nose looks like it's turned too far towards the viewer. otherwise he's adorable. ^__^ and so fuzzy...
